To highlight the exemplary role of advanced models, carry forward the May Fourth Spirit, and tell the story of Guizhou’s path toward Chinese-style modernization, Yang Jian, Chief Engineer of Kan She Co., Ltd., recently participated as a specially invited guest speaker in the “Youthful Vigor: Meeting Guizhou, Meeting You” special May Fourth Youth Program, organized by the Publicity Department of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the CPC, hosted by Guizhou Radio and Television Station, and co-organized by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education. Leaders including He Yunjiang, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, and Ha Siting, Chief Editor of Guizhou Radio and Television Station, attended the event.
At the event site, 12 people Representatives from the front lines of Guizhou’s vibrant development engaged in warm and friendly exchanges with over a hundred students from universities including Guizhou University, Guizhou Medical University, and Guizhou University of Science and Technology. They answered young people’s questions and addressed their concerns, filling the venue with an exuberant youthful enthusiasm.
Under the theme “Building Dreams Across Mountains and Seas,” Yang Jian, drawing on his own personal experiences, showcased to the young people the remarkable achievements made by Guizhou’s bridges as well as the brilliance of the bridge designers themselves. During his speech, Chief Engineer Yang Jian reflected on his youthful years, saying, “Our long hours—working five days a week plus two extra days, day and night—stemmed from our deep understanding that transportation in Guizhou couldn’t afford to wait, and from our conviction that we could make it happen!” He encouraged the younger generation to embrace the spirit of the people of Guizhou—their unyielding determination—and to infuse their youth with the vibrant colors of relentless effort, ensuring that their youth would be lived without regret. The audience below erupted in continuous, wave-like applause throughout the talk.
When the youth thrive, the nation thrives; when the youth are strong, the nation is strong. If the younger generation has ideals, competence, and a sense of responsibility, the nation will have a bright future, and the ethnic group will hold great hope. As the May Fourth Youth Day approaches, Yang Jian has demonstrated through his own story the mission and commitment of Guizhou’s transportation builders, inspiring young people to ignite their original aspirations with youthful vows and the drive to strive hard, enabling the world to witness Guizhou’s achievements and contributing Guizhou’s wisdom to the world!
