Company Profile
Guizhou Provincial Transportation Planning, Survey & Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. (stock code: 603458.SH) was established in 1958. In 1994, it transitioned to enterprise-based management as a public institution. In October 2001, it officially transformed into a state-owned enterprise. In April 2010, it was restructured into a wholly privately-owned joint-stock enterprise. On August 9, 2017, it was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange through an initial public offering of A-shares, becoming the first survey and design company in the Southwest region to be listed on the main board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The company’s core business focuses on engineering consulting and contracting services in the highway industry. It holds “Dual Comprehensive Grade A” qualifications for surveying and design, as well as a Grade A qualification for engineering consulting firms, enabling it to provide end-to-end consulting services across all stages of various construction projects. The company also possesses multiple qualifications in areas such as planning and preparation, engineering supervision, general construction contracting, inspection and testing, and geological hazard management. Its business covers the entire industrial chain across multiple sectors including highways, municipal engineering, architecture, water transport, and ecological environmental protection, allowing it to offer comprehensive solutions and services for infrastructure development. Additionally, the company has ventured into emerging fields such as manufacturing and operation of electric vehicle charging (and battery-swapping) equipment, new energy, intelligent manufacturing, and new infrastructure. It has mastered several core technologies, including specialized bridge designs for mountainous regions, long-span tunnels, geological surveys, ecological and environmental protection measures, and applications involving large-scale underground spaces. Furthermore, the company possesses independent capabilities for surveying and designing bridges spanning “kilometer-level” distances and tunnels extending “ten-kilometer-level” lengths.
The Tencent Gui'an Data Center, independently designed by the company, is an innovative data center—both domestically and globally—that employs tunnel-based data storage equipment. It features characteristics such as “constant temperature, constant humidity, high concealment, high protection, and high security.” The Pingtang Super Bridge, also independently designed by the company, received the 38th International Bridge Conference’s “Gustav Lindenthal” Award in 2020 and the FIDIC Global Project Awards Special Excellence Award in 2021. The long-tunnel complex on the Zhenxi Expressway in Guizhou was awarded the 2021 NCE Tunnel Engineering Award. This marks Guizhou’s first-ever international tunnel award win and represents China’s second time receiving this prestigious award, following the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge’s island-and-tunnel project. The Huajiang Canyon Bridge on the Lu’an Expressway, with a main span of 1,420 meters and a height of 625 meters, has become “the world’s longest span bridge over a mountain canyon” and “the world’s highest bridge.”
