Zhou Rongfeng, representing the Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, extended warm congratulations on the convening of the conference and put forward three key requirements for the special committee and the industry’s development: First, we must firmly seize the historic opportunity presented by the digital transformation of highways, promote digitalization, and foster the digital economy. Second, we must resolutely shoulder the historical mission of highway digital transformation, prioritize key areas, master core technologies, produce replicable technological achievements, and carry out pilot projects in major key initiatives. Third, we emphasized that design institutions should play a leading role in the digital transformation and upgrading process. We also hope that the special committee will serve as a bridge and link, jointly building shared platforms, facilitating technical exchanges, and promoting the development of digital design and BIM technology.

In the afternoon of the 24th, the conference held academic exchange activities centered around topics such as “digital transformation of highways, BIM-based forward design, collaborative design, digital infrastructure, and domestically developed industrial software.”
