Yang Jian, Chief Engineer of Kan She Co., Ltd., led a team to attend the World Transport Congress.


From June 14 to 17, the 2023 World Transport Convention (WTC), jointly hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Transport, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the People's Government of Hubei Province, was held at the China Optics Valley Science and Technology Convention & Exhibition Center in Wuhan, Hubei. This year’s convention is themed “Innovation, Low-Carbon, Smart, and Shared—Towards More Sustainable Transportation.” It comprises an opening ceremony and keynote speech session, an international transportation seminar on the Belt and Road Initiative, parallel forums, a transportation technology expo, the release of scientific and technological achievements, award competitions, and special events. Kan She Co., Ltd. co-organized two parallel forums: the 5th Bridge Development Forum and the 2nd Bridge Aesthetics Forum. Chief Engineer Yang Jian and a delegation of 12 people attended the meeting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

01 Kan She Shares Co-organizes the 5th Bridge Development Forum

At the 5th Bridge Development Forum, Yang Jian delivered a keynote presentation titled “Key Technologies for the Demolition and Reconstruction of the Huayu Cave Bridge,” and also chaired the afternoon session. The presentation elaborated on the construction vision of the Huayu Cave Bridge—“building bridges in harmony with ecology”—and set forth four major goals: “zero pollution of water sources, zero disturbance to scenic areas, reuse of waste materials, and creation of a new landmark landscape.” It innovatively proposed the bridge reconstruction concept of “using the old bridge to build a new arch, and then dismantling the old bridge once the new arch is completed,” enabling the Huayu Cave Bridge to achieve remarkable results despite its modest scale and earning it an international award, thus becoming a flagship example of mountain bridges.

 

 

02 Kan She Shares Co-organizes the 2nd Bridge Aesthetics Forum

The 2nd Bridge Aesthetics Forum and the 1st Exhibition of Bridge Art Design Works are hosted by the China Highway Society, organized by the Bridge Art Design Alliance, and co-organized by companies including Kan She Co., Ltd. The forum is themed “Technology, Art, Green Development, and Integration.”

Yang Jian was invited to participate in a high-level dialogue, where he engaged in discussions with other experts on how bridge design can be organically integrated with technology, art, and sustainability, thereby realizing the aesthetic value of bridge engineering structures.

Li Yinbin, Director of the Bridge Design Division of the Transportation Business Unit of Kanshe Shares, attended the opening ceremony of the first Bridge Art Design Exhibition and the awarding ceremony for the member units of the Bridge Art Design Alliance. Three bridges designed by Kanshe Shares, including the Sanqiao Bridge over the Wujiang River along the riverbank, were showcased at the first Bridge Art Design Exhibition. 03 Kanshe Shares Wins Four Awards

At this conference, certificates and medals were awarded to the 2022 winning projects nominated and recommended by the China Highway Society. The four award-winning projects of Kan She Co., Ltd. are as follows: “Demolition and Reconstruction Project of Huayu Cave Bridge” (39th International Bridge Conference “Gustavus Lindenthal Award”); Pingtang Bridge (First Prize of the China Highway Society’s First Bridge Engineering Innovation Award); Huayu Cave Bridge (First Prize of the China Highway Society’s First Bridge Engineering Innovation Award); and “Key Technologies for the Construction of Ultra-High Piers and Multi-Tower Cable-Stayed Bridges in Mountainous Areas” (Second Prize of the China Highway Society’s Science and Technology Award).
