After more than half a year of active preparation and with the care and support from the quality and technical supervision bureaus at the provincial, municipal, and district levels, the inaugural general assembly and first members’ congress of the Guiyang Inspection, Testing, and Certification Industry Association were held on September 25, 2016, in the conference room on the 17th floor of our company. Lu Tao, Director of the Certification and Assessment Division of the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau; Yin Xiaohong, Party Member and Chief Engineer of the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau; as well as leaders from the Guiyang Civil Affairs Bureau and the High-Tech Zone Quality Inspection Bureau, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

This conference was attended by representatives from more than 130 member units across various industries in the city. In accordance with the articles of association, and following a secret ballot conducted by the representatives of each member unit, Comrade Lü Xiaoshun, Executive Director of Guizhou Hongxin Chuanda Engineering Testing & Consulting Co., Ltd., was elected as the first President. Guizhou Zhengye International Engineering Enterprise Management Group Co., Ltd. has been appointed as the Secretary-General unit, while 43 organizations—including Guizhou Shunkang Bridge & Road Consulting Co., Ltd.—have been designated as director units.

After its establishment, the association will actively develop an industry self-regulatory mechanism, formulate industry rules and covenants for the inspection and testing sector, and supervise member units’ compliance with these standards. It will also enhance professional ethics and the quality of industry services, promote and implement regulations and policies related to inspection and testing work, assist the government in industry management, participate in deliberations on industry development, industry reform, and government decision-making processes that affect industry interests, and make positive contributions to improving the level of inspection and testing technical services across various industries in Guiyang City. Ultimately, the association will truly become a service-oriented social organization that is “needed by the government, welcomed by enterprises, trusted by the public, and praised by society.” (Text/Photos: Xie Xuehao)
