In accordance with the spirit of the “Work Plan for Targeted Poverty Alleviation through Designated Responsibility in Extremely Poor Townships (Towns) of Guizhou Province” issued by the General Office of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the CPC (Document No. [2016]60 of the Guizhou Provincial Committee Office), and to ensure a comprehensive victory in the battle against poverty, the province has selected 20 extremely poor townships (towns) that pose the greatest challenges in poverty alleviation as “key battlegrounds” for the province’s poverty alleviation efforts. Twenty provincial-level leaders will each lead a team to carry out targeted poverty alleviation work under the principle that “poverty alleviation is the bottom line, and becoming prosperous is the goal.” The focus will be on winning five major battles: lifting impoverished populations out of poverty, improving infrastructure, facilitating relocation-based poverty alleviation, promoting poverty alleviation through industry and employment, and enhancing public services. This effort aims to ensure that all 20 extremely poor townships (towns) are lifted out of poverty by 2020, thereby guaranteeing that the entire province will achieve the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects on schedule.
In this targeted poverty alleviation campaign focusing on 20 extremely impoverished townships in Guizhou Province, our company has earned the trust of the provincial leadership and been invited to participate in the “Infrastructure Battle.” Our Company’s Planning and Consulting Institute is responsible for drafting transportation poverty alleviation plans for 10 of these extremely impoverished townships. Currently, the Institute has basically completed field surveys of all 10 townships and has preliminarily finished drafting transportation poverty alleviation plans for four of them. Moving forward, the Institute will continue to closely follow up on the implementation of these transportation poverty alleviation plans, contributing its part to ensuring that the entire province achieves the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects on schedule.
