From August 13 to 16, 2017, a condolence team led by Jia Long, Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of Kan She Co., Ltd., along with representatives from the company’s Chief Engineer’s Office, Production Management Department, Human Resources Department, and General Management Department, traveled to the site of Contract Section No. 5 of the G4218 highway project—running from Bangda Military Post to Linzhi—in Bomê County, Nyingchi City, Tibet Autonomous Region. There, the team extended warm greetings and condolences to the project’s technical staff and surveyors working tirelessly on the front lines, and also put forward specific requirements regarding the project’s quality, schedule, and safety.
On March 8, 2017, our company received the Notice of Award for Contract Section No. 5 of the G4218 Highway Project, from Bangda Military Supply Station to Linzhi. We signed the survey and design contract on March 28, with a total contract value of 199.04 million yuan. Currently, the preliminary survey work is 60% complete, and we plan to finish it by September 10. The preliminary design work is being carried out steadily according to schedule. This project traverses the western Sichuan region and the eastern Tibetan areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, including the cities of Chamdo and Linzhi. Most of the section within the Tibet Autonomous Region is located in high-altitude canyons between the Nyenchen Tanggula Mountains and the Himalayas, primarily following the valleys or terraces formed by glacial (or water) moraines along the tributaries of the Yarlung Tsangpo River—the Palong Tsangpo River basin—and generally runs parallel to National Highway 318, the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. The contract section undertaken by our company starts approximately 3 km west of Songzong Town in Bomê County, near Chara Village, and ends east of Gu Township in Bomê County, at Kada Village. The total length of the section is 61.628 kilometers. The project is constructed to first-class highway standards (four lanes in each direction), with a design speed of 80 km/h. The integrated roadbed width is 25.5 meters, while the separated roadbed width is 12.75 meters; the pavement is made of asphalt concrete. The project includes four extra-long bridges totaling 4,966 meters across three structures, 22 medium and large bridges totaling 11,358 meters, and eight extra-long and long tunnels totaling 16,330 meters. The bridge-to-tunnel ratio is 51.25%, and there are three conventional grade-separated interchanges.
All the technical personnel and surveyors on site were deeply touched and greatly encouraged by the company’s care and concern. They are determined to uphold the quality principle of “independent innovation, meticulous surveying and design, people-oriented approach, environmental protection, continuous improvement, and service to society,” overcome the challenges posed by the plateau environment, carry forward the spirit of hard work and perseverance, and ensure that they deliver high-quality design documents on time to the local government and the client, thus presenting a satisfactory performance to Surveying & Design Co., Ltd.!
