To thoroughly implement the various documents and guiding principles issued by higher authorities and competent departments regarding fire safety work, effectively fulfill the primary responsibility for fire safety, and conduct inspections and follow-ups on the identification and remediation of fire hazards—thereby truly achieving the goal of “self-inspection for fire safety and self-elimination of fire hazards”—on the afternoon of May 25, 2021, the Comprehensive Management Department organized a special lecture and evacuation drill on fire safety knowledge for our company’s employees. The lecture was led by Teacher Qiu Guomao, Director of the Fire Education and Publicity Department at the Guizhou Lianmin Fire Knowledge Promotion and Service Center, who was invited to deliver the session.
Teacher Qiu gave a detailed lecture focusing on four key areas: basic safety knowledge, fire prevention, fire suppression, and evacuation. After the lecture concluded, an evacuation drill began. Following the key guidelines—“cover your mouth and nose, bend low and move forward, stay orderly, and jog”—everyone evacuated in an organized manner to the open space on the M floor under the guidance of professional instructors. Staff members then conducted a final headcount to ensure that everyone had safely reached the designated assembly point. Next, the session moved on to practical fire suppression exercises. Staff members took their assigned positions, carefully following Teacher Qiu’s instructions: standing upwind, holding fire extinguishers, and using the mnemonic “shake once, pull the pin twice, aim three times, and squeeze four times” to direct the extinguishing agent precisely at the base of the fire until the flames were completely put out.
The company organizes fire safety training and drills irregularly each year. These training sessions help reinforce among employees the awareness that safety comes first in daily work and that everyone is responsible for ensuring safe production. At the same time, they serve to test the company’s organizational capabilities in fire safety, its emergency evacuation preparedness, and its real-world response capabilities, thereby ensuring that fire safety efforts become routine and institutionalized, and creating a safe and harmonious working environment for both the company and its employees.
