The Party Branch of the Kan She Shares Company visited the Guiyang Civil Defense Science Education and Experience Hall.

Listen to the red stories and draw strength from the spirit of struggle. On the afternoon of June 24, 2022, members of our Party branch visited the Guiyang Civil Defense Science Education and Experience Hall and carried out a red-themed educational activity titled “Celebrating July 1st and Welcoming the 20th National Congress,” while also attending a uniquely engaging on-site Party class.

The Guiyang Civil Defense Science Education and Experience Museum features six major thematic exhibition halls and 11 supporting exhibition areas, including a civil defense science zone, a Party building hall, an exhibition hall showcasing the armed forces of the land, sea, and air, a museum dedicated to Guizhou-born soldiers who fought in the War of Resistance and veteran soldiers, a museum on the history of Guizhou’s migration, a museum highlighting prominent figures and local notables from Guizhou, and a museum recreating the century-old scenery of Guiyang. Additionally, the museum has introduced modern audiovisual technologies to create highly immersive and engaging exhibition spaces.

Led by the on-site docent, all Party members and cadres took a tour of the exhibition halls, including the “Civil Defense Image Hall,” the “Civil Defense Development Exhibition Hall,” the “Mountains and Rivers Together Zone,” the “Qian Army Anti-Japanese War Reconstruction Zone,” the “Contemporary Sea, Land, and Air Special Experience Zone,” and the “Centennial Guiyang Memorial Hall.” In the “Civil Defense Image Hall,” we saw the Soviet-made M1939 37mm anti-aircraft gun featured in the movie “Battle on the River.” In the Contemporary Sea, Land, and Air Special Experience Zone, upon entering the Navy Hall, we were immediately greeted by posters of naval warships—each named after cities in Guizhou. In the Air Force Viewing Experience Zone, we used the J-9 trainer aircraft that participated in the 2019 National Day military parade as our viewing platform, with an immersive full-projection display showcasing the Air Force’s combat operations. In the Army Hall, the exhibit centered around the People's Liberation Army’s 130mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer armored vehicle—a model built at a 1:1 scale, allowing visitors to step inside and experience the vehicle’s combat environment firsthand. Inside the “Centennial Guiyang Memorial Hall,” there were lifelike murals depicting the Republic of China Storytelling Pavilion, the Guizhou Folk Snack Pavilion, the Eighth Route Army Office, Liu Dong Bridge, and Guiyang’s first post office. From these exhibits, we could trace Guiyang’s century-long historical journey. All Party members attentively studied the heroic deeds of revolutionary martyrs from Guizhou Province since the War of Resistance Against Japan.

The guide also demonstrated to all Party members how to administer first aid in case of emergencies and provided a VR headset simulation experience, allowing participants to practice escaping during an earthquake disaster.

Through this unique “on-site Party class,” all Party members gained knowledge in areas such as national defense education, responses to natural disasters, and public safety. They also experienced the daily life and folk customs of the old residents of Guiyang, and revisited the heroic feats of Guizhou’s military and civilians during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression—how they fought bravely to defend their homeland and country. This experience strengthened the confidence of Party officials and members to remember history, honor the martyrs, cherish peace, and forge a brighter future.
