The “Belt and Road” High-Level Forum on Traffic Education Services Concludes Successfully.

The 10th China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week’s accompanying event—the High-Level Forum on Transportation Education Services for the Belt and Road Initiative—was held in Guiyang from July 28 to 29. This forum is organized by the National Steering Committee for Teaching in Transportation Vocational Education and is hosted by Guizhou College of Transportation Technology, Zhejiang College of Transportation Technology, and Guizhou Provincial Institute of Transportation Planning, Surveying and Design Co., Ltd. 90 Representatives from domestic transportation vocational colleges, enterprises, and institutions from ASEAN countries gathered in Guiyang to discuss cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in the field of transportation vocational education.

On July 28, the forum opened with a welcoming speech delivered by Pan Hai, a member of the Party Committee and Chief Engineer of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Transport. He pointed out that Guizhou and ASEAN countries share close geographical proximity and cultural affinity. Under the principles of joint consultation, shared benefits, and co-building advocated by the Belt and Road Initiative, the forum was initiated with the aim of vigorously developing transportation education and exploring potential areas, scopes, and feasibility of cooperation. Pan Hai stated that the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week platform will undoubtedly further promote the development of transportation education—and indeed, vocational education in transportation—across Guizhou and throughout China, creating more opportunities for young people and providing robust talent support for Guizhou’s efforts to catch up and achieve innovative-driven development. Moreover, this platform will continue to deepen cooperation between Guizhou and ASEAN in culture, science and technology, and education, yielding new achievements and making even greater contributions to the friendly neighborliness and win-win cooperation between China and ASEAN.

In his speech, Wang Yimin, Deputy Director of the National Steering Committee for Vocational Education and Teaching in Transportation and Party Secretary of Zhejiang Institute of Transportation Technology, pointed out that strengthening cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in the field of transportation vocational education is not only an important component of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative but also provides crucial talent support for its realization. Through cooperative exchanges, we can cultivate high-quality technical and skilled personnel, promote economic and social development, and advance the common development of transportation vocational education in China and ASEAN countries—a shared aspiration of us all. At the “President’s Forum,” Lu Zhengping, President of Guizhou Institute of Transportation Technology, delivered a presentation on “A Holistic Perspective on How Transportation Vocational Education Can Serve the Belt and Road Initiative.”

At the forum, Jia Long, Vice Chairman and Party Secretary of Guizhou Provincial Transportation Planning, Survey & Design Research Institute Co., Ltd., delivered a speech titled “Talent Development Promotes the Great Development of Guizhou’s Transportation,” in which he introduced the institute’s efforts in building a talent hub for transportation in Guizhou—including joint research initiatives, collaborative talent development programs, and the cultivation of internationally-minded professionals through the Belt and Road Initiative’s expansion into overseas markets.

At the signing ceremony of the forum, 32 organizations established the China-ASEAN International Alliance for Transportation Vocational Education and reached the “Guiyang Consensus of the International Alliance for Transportation Vocational Education.” In the Transportation Culture Tour held on the afternoon of July 29, the attendees visited the Xifeng-Qianxi Expressway—designed by our company—as well as the Liuguang River Super Bridge and our company’s digital exhibition hall. With this, the current summit forum has come to a successful conclusion.
