Deputy General Manager Guan Xiaoqing briefed the Minister on our company’s work in Zambia and the positive results we’ve achieved so far: Under our effective planning, Zambia’s Lusaka urban transportation network has transformed from its initial chaotic and disorganized state into a well-organized, systematic road network. After hearing this, the Minister showed keen interest and highly praised our company. Both sides reached an agreement and expressed their hope that projects could be launched as soon as possible. They also agreed to send a delegation to Pakistan to conduct site surveys, design work, and provide planning consultancy services.
The delegation also visited Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Planning, Development, and Reform Commission. Both the Federal Board of Revenue and the Commission indicated that if our company undertakes engineering consulting projects in Pakistan, such projects would fall within the scope of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor policies. Consequently, we would be eligible for certain tax reductions and preferential policies.
