From April 21 to 22, the 6th Session, 2nd Meeting of the Members’ Congress of the China Highway Survey and Design Association, together with the Symposium on the Reform and Exchange of Survey and Design Institutions, was held in Chengdu. All members of the China Highway Survey and Design Association, representatives from outstanding survey and design enterprises in the highway transportation sector, and distinguished survey and design engineers attended the meeting. Qi Guirong, General Manager of Guizhou Provincial Transportation Planning, Survey and Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Vice Chairman of the China Highway Survey and Design Association, also attended the meeting.

Chen Lesheng, Chief Engineer of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Transport, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Wang Hengbin, Deputy Director of the Engineering Management Division of the Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, also attended the meeting and gave a speech. The meeting primarily concluded the following agenda items:

One is A symposium for deans from the highway survey and design industry was held, during which a special discussion was conducted on “How to Promote the High-Quality and Rapid Development of the Highway Survey and Design Industry.” General Manager Qi Guirong delivered a speech at the meeting.

Second is The certificates of excellence were awarded to outstanding survey and design enterprises and outstanding survey and design engineers in the road transportation industry. General Manager Qi Guirong participated as a guest of honor at the award ceremony.

Third is Director Shen Dongbai from the Vocational Qualification Center of the Ministry of Transport announced details regarding the registration requirements for the Certified Civil Engineer (Road Engineering) qualification examination. Currently, the examination fee approval from the Ministry of Finance is pending. If the process proceeds smoothly, the examination will be held on October 21 and 22 this year.

Fourth is The meeting featured a special exchange focused on the restructuring of survey and design firms. At the meeting, General Manager Qi Guirong delivered a keynote speech on the company’s restructuring efforts and its key experiences and best practices.
