The large and small Jing Bridge on the Pingluo Expressway, constructed by our company, has been successfully joined.


On June 30, 2018, the main arch ring of the Daxiao Jing Super Bridge on the Pingluo Expressway—constructed by our company under an EPC model—was successfully closed. Wang Diming, Deputy General Manager of our company, led a team to attend the bridge closure ceremony. After the ceremony, General Manager Wang held a symposium with the staff from the EPC office. At the meeting, he fully praised the work of the EPC office and offered high commendation, encouraging them to keep up the good work and achieve even greater success in the future.

The Daxiao Jing Bridge is our company’s first project undertaken under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model. As the EPC contractor, our company is responsible for the entire construction management and supervision throughout the project’s construction process. We carry out investment control, schedule control, quality control, safety management, contract management, and information management for the project. Additionally, we manage and coordinate with the participating construction contractors, monitoring agencies, third-party testing organizations, the central laboratory, and the steel structure fabrication manufacturer.

This project is one of the two key control nodes for the Pingluo Expressway (the other key node being the Pingtang Super Bridge, designed by our company). The main span of the bridge is a 450-meter-long (calculated span) top-bearing steel tube concrete arch bridge—a bridge of this type with the world’s longest span. The bridge was constructed using the cable-stayed incremental launching method with suspended cables and stay cables, a technique that presents significant construction control challenges and high construction risks. The project adopted an integrated approach combining construction management and supervision. Relying on our company’s technical and managerial strengths, and through the joint efforts of all participating units, the main arch ring of the bridge was successfully closed, with all technical indicators exceeding the design requirements and relevant standards. Specifically, during closure, the positioning accuracy of the centerlines of the main chord tubes, the elevation coordinates of the erected segments, and the horizontal relative errors were all kept within ±5 mm. Under maximum cantilever conditions, the difference between the measured and theoretical stresses at critical sections of the main arch remained within 5 MPa. The positioning errors of each segment during lifting and installation were all within ±5 mm. The deviation of the main arch axis from the designed position was within ±15 mm. The elevation differences between the two ends of the closure joint and their corresponding design values were less than 15 mm; the relative error between the two ends of the closure joint, as well as the actual length of the closure filling section compared to its design length, were both within ±5 mm. These control accuracies significantly exceed the elevation tolerances specified in the “Highway Engineering Quality Inspection and Evaluation Standards.” ±150mm And axis ±75mm requirements, successfully achieved the precise closure of the Da-Jing Special Bridge.

Through the management of the Daxiao Jing Super Bridge EPC project, our company has accumulated valuable experience in construction project management, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of similar projects in the future. Moreover, our full-process involvement in the construction of the steel tube concrete arch bridge has deepened our company’s understanding of the design principles underlying such bridges. The successful completion of the Daxiao Jing Super Bridge EPC project not only provides our company with a wealth of experience in undertaking large-span bridge construction of the same type but also marks a significant and solid step forward in our company’s business development in project construction management!
