The 2018 Annual Conference on Mountain Road Inspection and Maintenance Technology of the Guizhou Provincial Highway Society was solemnly held.

2018 On November 29-30, the 2018 Technical Exchange Conference on Mountain Road Inspection and Maintenance, hosted by the Guizhou Provincial Highway Society and co-organized by our company, the Testing and Maintenance Professional Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Highway Society, and Guizhou Hongxin Chuanda Engineering Testing & Consulting Co., Ltd., was grandly held in Guiyang.
The meeting was attended by over 180 experts and representatives from more than 50 participating organizations, including Liu Yang, Deputy Director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Transport; Huang Qiang, Director of the Basic Construction Management Division; Zhang Qunli, Chairman of the Guizhou Highway Society; Long Wanxue, Secretary-General; Huang Kunquan, Chairman of the Testing and Maintenance Professional Committee; as well as representatives from the Guizhou Expressway Administration, the Guizhou Highway Bureau, highway operation and management units both within and outside the province, survey and design institutes, testing and inspection agencies, maintenance and construction companies, and higher education institutions.

The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General He Fei of the Testing and Maintenance Professional Committee. Zhang Qunli, Chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Highway Society, delivered a speech at the conference. In his opening remarks, Chairman Zhang first extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Society to the leaders from the Provincial Department of Transport who attended the conference, the expert participants, and all the delegates and colleagues present. At the same time, he set higher expectations for the Testing and Maintenance Professional Committee in building the technical exchange conference into a renowned brand and in serving the cause of highway testing and maintenance in mountainous regions.

First, Deputy Director Liu Yang of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Transport extended congratulations on behalf of the department for the convening of this conference on highway inspection and maintenance technologies in mountainous regions, and delivered an important speech. Deputy Director Liu pointed out that Guizhou’s highway maintenance and management work currently faces significant challenges. After highways are built, the key task for the transportation sector in Guizhou is to ensure these highways are well-managed, properly maintained, and efficiently operated—thus consolidating the achievements made in recent years in transportation infrastructure development and fully leveraging the critical role of transportation in driving economic and social progress. All practitioners in the highway inspection and maintenance industry must deeply recognize the importance of maintenance work as well as the existing shortcomings, fully appreciate the significance of advanced maintenance technologies, and actively promote the marketization of highway maintenance. At the same time, Deputy Director Liu expressed earnest hopes to the experts and delegates attending this conference, urging them to employ scientific methods and technologies to promptly identify and address issues in maintenance management, thereby delivering a satisfactory outcome for Guizhou’s economic and social development in the new era and ensuring safe and secure travel for the people.

This exchange conference features a total of 17 keynote presentations, covering topics such as road network monitoring and emergency response, analysis of highway maintenance needs, health monitoring of bridge and tunnel structures, pavement recycling technologies and applications, slope protection, and roadside safety facilities.
Among them, Yu Liyun, Director of the Road Network Monitoring and Emergency Response Center of the Ministry of Transport, delivered a keynote report titled “Monitoring the Technical Condition of National and Provincial Trunk Highway Networks.” The speaker introduced to the attending delegates the key findings of the technical condition monitoring of China’s national and provincial trunk road network, with a particular focus on the technical condition of Guizhou Province’s national and provincial trunk road network and its existing shortcomings.

Chief Fu Yishu from the Guizhou Provincial Expressway Administration, Deputy Director Qin Ming from the Guizhou Provincial Highway Bureau, and Director Zhang Jie each provided a summary and analysis of the current status and needs regarding highway maintenance and management in our province—specifically for expressways, national and provincial trunk roads, and rural roads.
Long Wanxue, Deputy General Manager of Kan She Co., Ltd., and He Fei, Deputy General Manager of Hongxin Chuanda Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kan She Co., Ltd., delivered keynote reports on the risk assessment and management system for in-service highway slopes, as well as on key technologies and application research for preventive maintenance of continuous rigid-frame bridges on mountainous highways.

Experts from organizations including China Merchants Bureau Chongqing Transportation Research & Design Institute Co., Ltd., Sujiao Ke Group Co., Ltd., and China Communications Construction Company Highway Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd. delivered engaging keynote lectures to the attending delegates, earning enthusiastic rounds of applause from the participants.
