I. Purpose of the Competition
The purpose of the Guizhou Province College Students’ Bridge Design Competition is to guide higher education institutions to emphasize the cultivation of college students’ innovative design awareness, comprehensive design capabilities, and team collaboration spirit in their teaching. It also aims to strengthen students’ hands-on skills and engineering practice training, enhance their interest in bridge structural design, and enable them to address real-world needs through innovative thinking, thereby developing practical abilities in bridge design and fabrication processes. This competition seeks to help students gain a deeper understanding of bridge structures. Moreover, it encourages and motivates a wide range of students to actively participate in extracurricular science and technology activities, creating favorable conditions for outstanding talents to emerge. By identifying and nurturing more specialized bridge design professionals, the competition will contribute to building a stronger talent pool to support the development of bridge construction in Guizhou Province.

To ensure the smooth running of the competition, the organizing, judging, and promotional activities will be handled by the Competition Organizing Committee, while the day-to-day administrative work will be undertaken by the Secretariat of the Competition Organizing Committee.
III. Competition Content
This competition does not provide topographic maps, and there are no restrictions on the type of bridge or the arrangement of span lengths. Participants may freely choose the structural form of their bridges and proceed with bridge design. The main design contents for the competing bridges are as follows:
1. Bridge types: highway bridges, railway bridges, municipal bridges, landscape bridges, multi-functional bridges, etc.;
2. Bridge types: beam bridges, arch bridges, suspension bridges, cable-stayed bridges, as well as combined, hybrid, and collaborative systems;
3. Component Design: Design and combination of beams, arch rings, bridge piers, suspenders, and main cables, etc.;
4. Material Design: Wood, bamboo, masonry, concrete, steel, composite and hybrid materials, new materials, etc.;
5. New Concept Bridge: The Bridge of the Future;
6. Construction Plan: A feasible, safe, economical, practical, and advanced construction plan.
IV. Event Time and Location
1. Time: The duration of this competition is 2019 Year 4 Moon -2019 Year 10 National “Double Innovation Week” held monthly.
2. Venue: The final defense and award ceremony will be held in the conference room of Guizhou Provincial Transportation Planning, Survey & Design Research Institute Co., Ltd.
3. Registration Dates: From today until 2019 Year 5 Moon 31 day
4. Submission deadline for entries: 2019 Year 8 Moon 31 day
5. Date of initial qualification review: 2019 Year 9 Early in the month
6. Final defense date: 2019 Year 10 Moon “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week”
V. Eligibility, Entry Method, and Work Requirements
1. Eligible Participants: Full-time undergraduate and graduate students, as well as higher vocational and technical college students, enrolled at any regular university within Guizhou Province.
2. Entry Method:
( 1 ) Participants may enter as teams or individually; the number of members per team is... 3-5 People can freely form teams across different majors.
( 2 ) Competition Category: A Undergraduate (and above) group; B : Vocational college students group.
( 3 ) Each project’s advisor can supervise at most 2 Name. 3. Submission Requirements: Each participating team may submit no more than [number] entries. 2 Each work must have its own unique title and be compiled into a separate volume. The entries include the following:
( 1 ) Guizhou Province University Student Bridge Design Competition Registration Form (see attachment) 1 );
( 2 ) Bridge architectural design visualization (the form of visualization is not limited—computer-generated renderings, hand-drawn sketches, models, etc.) BIM 、 VR —including all other forms—structural calculation reports (including calculation models) and preliminary design drawings for the bridge scheme. (Note: Submissions must include both a paper version and an electronic version. The list of submitted items and relevant textual requirements are provided in the attachment.) 2 .)
( 3 The design concept shall adhere to the principles of safety, applicability, durability, aesthetics, environmental friendliness, energy efficiency, resource conservation, constructability, and maintainability; each project must reflect at least one of these principles. 3 More than one design concept;

4. Entry Fee: There is no registration fee for this competition. Students participating in the final judging and their accompanying teachers will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodation expenses.
VI. Competition Process and Evaluation Criteria
The organizing committee of the competition has assembled a panel of renowned experts in bridge engineering to form a judging panel. The entries will undergo a comprehensive evaluation according to the following procedures, taking into account factors such as design completeness, design difficulty, design effectiveness, and design value. The evaluation process for the entries is divided into two stages: an initial qualification review and a final defense round.
1. Registration: Participants submit 2019 Application Form for the First Guizhou Province College Students’ Bridge Design Competition (Attachment) 1 ), the registration review will be handled by the competition secretariat. , Through application review , Confirm eligibility to compete.
2. Submission of Entries: All those who have qualified for the competition are eligible to submit their work. , Notified by the competition organizing committee , As per the attachment 2 Submission of competition entries for the initial qualification review is required (the organizing committee will issue a separate notice if there are any adjustments).
3. Preliminary Qualification Review: The competition’s judging committee will assess the completion status of each participating team’s submission. Scoring will be based on the design difficulty, design concept, and overall completion quality of the submissions. Entries will be ranked in descending order according to their total scores, and a certain proportion of entries (the specific proportion to be determined based on the number of registrations) will advance to the finals. 4. Final Defense: The judging panel will assign scores based on a comprehensive evaluation of the project’s architectural presentation, structural calculations, overall difficulty level, and on-site defense performance. 5. If there are any adjustments to the evaluation criteria, the competition organizing committee will issue a separate notice.
VII. Reward Measures
To encourage college students to participate and boost their enthusiasm, this competition will award certificates and prize money. The prize structure is as follows:
(1) Non-grouped awards
