Research on the Development Plan for Highway Service Areas in Guizhou Province

The “China Highway Society Science and Technology Award,” approved by the Office of National Science and Technology Awards, is an authoritative science and technology award aimed at the nationwide highway transportation industry.

In the 2019 China Highway Society Science and Technology Award评选, Guizhou... 4 A transportation enterprise and institution has received a prestigious award. Among them, the “Guizhou Province Expressway Service Area Development Planning Study” (hereinafter referred to as the “Planning Study”), in which the Planning and Consulting Branch of the company’s Transportation Division participated in the preparation, was awarded the Third Prize.

According to the “Planning Study,” the province will have a total of 375 highway service areas, including 90 Class I areas, 130 Class II areas, and 155 parking areas. Among these, 98 are existing service areas and 103 are existing parking areas. The functional scope of highway service areas will be expanded along the lines of “service area + tourism,” “service area + logistics,” “service area + commercial complexes,” and “service area + local specialty industries,” transforming these areas into key platforms for showcasing local cultural and economic characteristics and for fostering the development of emerging industries.

The “Planning Study” provides an important basis for identifying implementation projects for highway service areas in our province and serves as a guiding document for the development of these service areas. Closely aligned with the “Transportation Powerhouse” strategy for the new era, the “Planning Study” is of great significance in actively integrating into the province’s broader strategies of poverty alleviation, big data, and ecological conservation.
