As China’s bridge construction continues to develop, mountainous-region bridges are increasingly becoming the primary battleground for bridge-building efforts. Moreover, the management and maintenance of a large number of existing bridges have become the core focus of the bridge industry. Given the unique geological and topographical features of mountainous regions—along with their harsh climatic conditions, frequent natural disasters, and fragile ecological environments—holding technical innovation and exchange activities focused on mountainous-region bridge construction and maintenance will help address major theoretical challenges and core common technological issues in the fields of mountain bridge construction and safe operation, thereby further enhancing the scientific level of mountain bridge construction and maintenance. This conference, held in Guizhou—a region renowned as the “World Bridge Museum”—holds profound significance in guiding the technological development trends in mountain bridge engineering.

Grand scene at the conference
The conference invited renowned experts and scholars in the field of bridge engineering—including Chen Kejian, Peng Yuancheng, Tian Qixian, and Zhou Shuixing—from China Railway Second Institute, China Communications Construction First Institute, China Communications Construction Second Institute, China Railway Yangtze River Institute, and China Railway Bridge Research Institute—to deliver special keynote speeches. The event was structured as a main forum plus parallel sub-forums, and attracted more than 260 participants.
