In accordance with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important instructions on disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief, and in order to establish an efficient and scientific natural disaster prevention and control system and enhance the entire society’s capacity for natural disaster prevention and control, it has been clearly stated that we must carry out disaster risk surveys and targeted hazard identification efforts to gain a comprehensive understanding of the underlying risks and hidden dangers.

The “Technical Guidelines for the Comprehensive Risk Survey of Highway Vulnerable Entities to Natural Disasters,” edited by the Ministry of Transport and co-authored with the Surveying Division of our company, was officially released by the Ministry of Transport on March 10, 2021. These guidelines will serve as the sole technical standard for the comprehensive implementation phase of the vulnerability survey of entities in the transportation sector.

The release of this guideline provides authoritative disaster risk information and a scientific basis for decision-making, enabling central and local governments to effectively carry out natural disaster prevention and control efforts and genuinely safeguard the sustainable development of the economy and society. As one of the participating units in the drafting of this guideline, our company’s Surveying Division, drawing on our department’s extensive practical experience in geological hazard management, took full part in the entire process of preparing the guideline.
