Experts Enter Campus—The Most Beautiful Bridge in Guizhou

On the afternoon of April 25, the auditorium on the sixth floor of Zhizhi Building at Guiyang No. 8 Middle School was packed to capacity as the “Most Beautiful Bridges of Guizhou” course—part of the “Bridge Experts Enter Campus” science popularization series jointly organized by the Guiyang Municipal Education Bureau and Guizhou Expressway Group Co., Ltd.—was underway. Liu Renming, Party branch secretary and deputy director of the Bridge Design Institute under the company’s Transportation Division, was invited to serve as the expert mentor for this session.

At the lecture, Liu Renming highlighted the company’s recent award. Gustav Lindenthal International Bridge Award Taking the Huayu Bridge and the Pingtang Super Bridge as entry points, the lecturer introduced students to various types of bridges and their distinctive features. The explanation was both accessible and engaging, infused with humor and vivid illustrations, which sparked great interest among the students. One student even expressed in class that they hoped to become an outstanding bridge engineer in the future. Liu Renming offered this advice to the students: “Those who have accomplished great things in ancient times not only possessed extraordinary talents but also demonstrated unwavering determination and perseverance. Those who are resilient will act with steadfastness, and resilience enables one to go far. In this era brimming with immense potential, as long as we remain down-to-earth, lay a solid foundation with each step, master our current knowledge thoroughly, and steadily build up our inner strength, persisting tirelessly forward, we will surely achieve success.”

After the two-hour lecture, Zhou Jing, the principal of Guiyang No. 8 Middle School, stated: “The world looks to China for its bridges, and China looks to Guizhou for its bridges.” She expressed deep gratitude to the bridge experts from KanShe Co., Ltd.—a leader in bridge design—for coming to the campus to share their knowledge about bridges with the students. Not only did this enrich the students’ understanding of Guizhou’s bridge technology and innovations, but more importantly, it served as a powerful source of inspiration for them.
