Highway Mechanically Produced Sand The “Application Technical Specifications” is the first industry standard for highway engineering drafted and led by Kanshe Co., Ltd. The participating organizations in the drafting of these specifications include Tongji University, Guizhou Hongxin Chuanda Engineering Testing & Consulting Co., Ltd., Chang’an University, Poly Changda Engineering Co., Ltd., and Guangxi Road & Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd., among others.

The expert panel reviewing the document concluded that, given the dwindling natural sand resources and increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements, adopting manufactured sand as fine aggregate is an inevitable path for the sustainable development of the highway engineering industry. The preparation of this standard is both necessary and timely. The outline of the standard has clear objectives, a well-defined conceptual framework, and a feasible research plan; its chapter structure is generally reasonable, and the division of labor and schedule for drafting are clearly defined. Therefore, the panel agrees to approve the review. At the same time, the expert panel offered valuable suggestions on the drafting process, providing clear guidance for the drafting team’s next steps.
