Guizhou Provincial Transportation Planning, Survey & Design Institute Co., Ltd. specializes in engineering consulting and contracting services for the highway industry. The company holds “Dual Comprehensive Grade A” qualifications for surveying and design, as well as a Grade A qualification for engineering consulting firms, enabling it to provide end-to-end consulting services across all stages of various construction projects. It also possesses multiple qualifications covering planning preparation, engineering supervision, general contracting, inspection and testing, and geological hazard management. Its business spans the entire industrial chain, encompassing highways, municipal engineering, architecture, water transportation, and ecological environmental protection, allowing it to offer comprehensive solutions and services for infrastructure development. Furthermore, the company has ventured into emerging fields such as manufacturing and operation of electric vehicle charging (and battery-swapping) equipment, new energy, intelligent manufacturing, and new infrastructure. It has mastered several core technologies, including specialized bridge designs for mountainous regions, long-span tunnels, geological surveys, ecological and environmental protection, and applications involving large-scale underground spaces. The company possesses independent capabilities for surveying and designing bridges spanning "kilometer-level" distances and tunnels extending "ten-kilometer-level" lengths.
The Tencent Gui'an Data Center, independently designed by the company, is an innovative data center—both domestically and globally—that employs tunnel-based data storage equipment. It features characteristics such as “constant temperature, constant humidity, high concealment, high protection, and high security.” During his inspection, Premier Li Keqiang praised it as a “fairyland cave.” In 2021, the project received FIDIC’s Global Project Award for Outstanding Achievement. The exceptionally long tunnel complex of the Zhenxi Expressway in Guizhou was awarded the 2021 NCE Tunnel Engineering Award. This marks Guizhou’s first-ever international tunnel award and also represents China’s second time winning this prestigious award, following the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge’s island-and-tunnel project. Currently under design, the Huajiang Canyon Bridge on the Lu’an Expressway will have a main span of 1,420 meters and a height of 625 meters. Upon completion and opening to traffic, it will become both the “world’s longest span bridge over a mountain canyon” and the “world’s highest bridge.”
As of the end of 2021, the Group had a workforce of 3,009 employees, forming a multi-level talent pipeline that includes six experts receiving special allowances from the State Council, one core expert from Guizhou Province, five experts receiving special allowances from the Guizhou Provincial Government, five experts under provincial administration in Guizhou Province, six experts under municipal administration in Guiyang, seven master surveyors and designers, more than 120 senior engineers at the highest level, and over 600 senior engineers.
Since 2015, the company has been listed for seven consecutive years on both the “Top 100 Enterprises in Guizhou Province” and the “Top 100 Private Enterprises in Guizhou Province.” Since 2017, it has been ranked among the top 50 engineering survey and design firms nationwide in terms of survey and design revenue for four consecutive years. The company has now become a domestically integrated group of engineering technology service enterprises in the infrastructure construction sector.
